Chimbote has a hot desert climate (Köppen BWh): very little rain and intense sun.
The warmest month is February, when afternoons average 26° and nights 22°. August is the coolest month, with highs of 19° and lows of 15°. The difference between the warmest and the coolest month is about 7°, a small seasonal swing typical of places tempered by the sea.
